A three member delegation of Kalimpong Krishak Kalyan Sangathan, a federal organisation of farmers working in all the three sub division of Darjeeling has submitted a memorandum to the union minister of state for power Jyotiradiyta Scindia stating the lapses incurred during the construction of TLDP III and IV in River Teesta.The team led by General secretary Bishnu Chettri met Scindia at his residence 27 Safdarjang Lane this afternoon and submitted the five point presentation to the minister demanding attention on the lapses made by NHPC in the interest of the general public.KKS alleged that the NHPC has not initiated the rehabilitation of effected persons and complained about the protection wall that was damaged by the rain on June 29.It has also demanded for free and subsidies electric supply for about 90 percent of marginal farmers living in the project area. Further KKS has also demanded review of afforestation and catchment area treatment work done by NHPC.
