Darjeeling is now the 12th district in the country to have its District Magistrate office certified by International Standard Organisation (ISO). An official announcement in this regard will be made by the North Bengal Development Minister Gautam Deb in Darjeeling on Wednesday, said DM Saumitra Mohan.
"Of the 650 districts in the country, the DM offices
of 11 districts have been certified with ISO," said Mohan. Seven collectorate sections of the DM office here has already been certified with ISO and the processes are on to certify other sections too.
It can be mentioned here that the headquarters of the
ISO is based in Geneva, Switzerland and in India the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) is the arm of ISO. "The guidelines of the ISO is to deliver the services of international level," Mohan said.
