GNLF holds meeting in Soureni Mirik

MIRIK,25 Nov 2013: An important meeting was held today at Lower Takling Mechi(Soureni Mirik) by the Gorkha National Liberation Front under the leadership of the area unit president Anjan Thapa. The meeting was attended by village committee Chief Atul Khawas, constituency secretary PS Pradhan, Kurseong branch committee member RS Rai and several others. The meeting discussed the future strategy of the party in implementing the sixth schedule.

Soureni constituency convener JB Limbu said several members of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha such as CB Subba, Jiten Tamang, Sanjov rai, Dev Kumar Allay and others have joined the GNLF during the meeting. Various members of GJM women wing including Bimla Subba, Archana Pradhan, Susi Tamang, Sarita Rai and many others also joined the party.
Meanwhile, Bimla Subba after joining the party appealed the remaining members of the Janmukti Nari Morcha to join the GNLF and support the sixth schedule as it is the only way for a secure future for the hill residents. The meeting also formed the Gorkha National Women Organisation during the meeting. The ex-GJM members further accused the GJM of oppressing the people of the Hills since it came into power.
