Kurseong: The ongoing political developments proves that the GNLF supremo, Subash Ghising remains as the only leader from the Gorkha Community of great vision and authenticity, according to a statement by GNLF women wing leader, Pemu Chettri, today.
Pemu Chettri is a woman GNLF leader from Garidhura, who was given a GNLF ticket during the last legislative assembly election from Kurseong Constituency by Ghising.
Talking to the reporters, she claimed that all the present political activities in the hills proves that Ghising is the only leader in the hills, who has visionary powers and because of his farsighted political acumen, people from different walks of life including different political parties have been appreciating Ghising’s political activism and farsighted for a long time.
She further added that the way in which thousands of people had gathered at Simulbari ground for a glimpse of Ghising, even though he could not make it to the meeting finally, on December 6 for the occasion of the 6th Schedule Accord Day, have revealed that the people still appreciate and demand Ghising’s entry into hills politics once again. She claimed that not only the GNLF followers, instead, a few people, who had earlier been in the TMC and the GJM party, was seen attending the accord day.
Chettri also claimed that the GJM chief Bimal Gurung have now understood that Ghising is the only leader from Gorkha Community who is sincere and a prophetic thinker. “Gurung is simply not admitting and announcing such thing in public so as to save his fake arrogance. That’s the one reason, now he has been welcoming his mentor Ghising like a father in the hills.” She added.
Chettri said Subash Ghisingh had single-handedly fought for Gorkhaland but the GJM even with an array of intellectuals, IAS & IPS in their fold have not achieved Gorkhaland even past their (GJM) stipulated time frame. “The GJM chief, who was thundering frequently for Gorkhaland, is now ultimately going to be sworn in as GTA chief again on 26 December in Kolkata. Hence all these developments reveal that he knew about these things earlier, for which our chief had diverted his way towards the demand of sixth schedule status and one day through the sixth schedule a separate state of Gorkhaland will be finally created,” she further said.
Hence, all the people and the activists of different political parties are now openly or internally appreciating Ghising’s farsighted politics, claimed Chettri.(EOIC)
