Kalimpong,Pradip Lohagun: The second Indo-Bhutan karate championship kicked off today in Kalimpong Town Hall under the joint initiation of the Darjeeling Gorkha Karate Du Association and Darjeeling district branch of Shito Ryu Seiko Kai Karate Du India. On the first day of the two-day event, aimed at creating better relations among the two sub-continental countries, only the junior category matches were fought.
The event saw presence of GTA acting chief Col. Ramesh Allay as the chief guest while Jayan Lepcha and Dawa Lama were also present as guests. The competition has 95 contestants from India and Nepal participating in it and the senior category matches will be played on Monday.
