Kalimpong: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha’s Kalimpong sub-divisional committee assistant spokesperson Basant Tirua today left the party to join TMC. Tirua, who was also an executive member in constituency no. 33 committee of GJM, was today handed over TMC flag by TMC district committee leader Nanita Gautam in a function held at Thakurbari here. Expressing joy over Tirua joining the TMC, Nanita Gautam claimed soon more GJM supporters will join TMC following him. Tirua on his part said he chose to join TMC as he became frustrated with the GJM policies. He lamented the GJM did not even value its founding members and added he has faith the TMC will ensure development in the hills. “If the GJM chief can retake the GTA chief’s seat again why can’t we straight away join TMC?” Tirua questioned.(EOIC)
