GTA chief executive Bimal Gurung today attended the final day of the Gorkha Sanskritik Utsav at Thana ground Dooars.
Yesterday, the programme was marked by the visit of North Bengal JMM president John Barla. He said “The Gorkha Utsav has demonstrated we are not like wild
animals. We have been living here for a long time. I am very much happy
that with this event, our Gorkha brothers have showed they are far
advanced socially and culturally.”
The three day long festival showcased the rich culture and traditions of Gorkhas by the people of Dooars.
Gurung also distributed the relief materials to the tea garden workers of the closed Torsa Tea Garden. The GJM would reaffirm it's commitment to the people in the Terai and Dooars he added.
