Siliguri, 14 February: In what was the most exciting and keenly contested encounter of the
tournament so far, favourites 58 Gorkha Training Centre,
Shillong, squeezed past strong contenders Mechi Football Club, Nepal 2-1
in the second pre-quarter final match of the Sukna High School Ground

Though the Nepal team had the lion’s share of exchanges during the first 25 minutes, they could not find the net. In the 29th minute, quite against the run of play, Vikram Adhikari put GTC ahead.
Thereafter, both the teams got a series of opportunities but could not convert them. Finally, Sachin equalised in the 69th minute.
But two minutes later, Roshan Gurung increased the margin. He was adjudged Man of the Match.(SNS)
