DDUDF derides Jaswant Singh’s silence amid Telangana nod

Tilak Rai, the Mirik unit convener of the Darjeeling Dooars United Development Foundation, today accused the BJP of not remaining loyal to the cause of a Gorkhaland state. He accused MP Jaswant Singh of remaining silent even as the Telangana Bill was being approved by the Cabinet.
Commenting on the BJP’s purported proposal to field party spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy from Darjeeling constituency, Rai said, “After the President stamps his seal and signature on Telangana; the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha will be appealing to the Congress and BJP to support its candidate. The GJM should instead support independent candidate Dr. Mahendra P Lama in the elections.”
He added the DDUDF will conduct a public meeting in Mirik on March 30 and also form its women’s and youth wing.(EOIC)
