Kolkata, 18 April: Around 1.70 lakh candidates will be appearing for the
West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) that begins tomorrow.
The exam will be held on 19 and 20 April for four subjects ~ Biological
Sciences, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
Senior officials of the WBJEE Board said this year the centre-in-charge has been asked to verify the documents of each examinee before allowing them to write the examination. The Board has prescribed a module to each centre-in-charge and based on that the verification is to be carried out.
Tomorrow, around 74,000 candidates will appear for the examination for admission into engineering and medical courses.
Mr Bhaskar Gupta, WBJEE chairman, said the results are expected by last week of June. Counselling for admissions will take place between mid-June to July.
All aspirants appearing for the examination, irrespective of their score, will be awarded a rank. The board notified that the candidates need not bring any photo to their examination centres as mentioned in the information brochure.(SNS)
