or perhaps it was the amazing work " New Mirik Transformation " by Sajha Manch Mirik,
today the members of the Gorkha Janmukti Vidhyarthi Morcha, Darjeeling
sub-division committee come forward to change the face of Darjeeling.
GJVM members today cleaned the nali and jhoras from Railway Station Super Market Bus Stand. Young guns were seen enthusiastically cleaning the drains that have not been cleaned for decades.
Speaking to TheDC, General Secretay for Darjeeling sub-division committee Mr. Biswas Chhetri said, "this program is not only to clean Darjeeling, but to also draw the attention of the people towards sanitation in our hills. We all say 'we love Darjeeling' but no one is willing to clean our Darjeeling... so being students we thought that it was our duty to take the first step and show to the people that if all of us can work together, our hills will be clean and green again."
The GJVM Central Committee member Sanjeeb Subedi Chhetri informed TheDC that they will conduct more such programs on a regular basis.
TheDC team applauds the efforts put in by GJVM and hopes that they will continue their crusade to rid Darjeeling of its filth, and we also hope that more such organizations and individuals will come forward.
