Roads which is foremost important for development of a place but on the opposite side tirpai fatak road in kalimpong has been closed by local driver just because the condition on the road is pathetic .Tirpai area comes under three ward of Kalimpong Municipality . A whole of residential place . Tirpai road connect to Tirpai Hawa Ghar which is a stretch of 105 kilometer road which was last maintain 6-8 year ago as informed by a local. The stretch lacks drainage which turns into a sea when a rain occur. The road is totally upward from tirpai fatak to hawa ghar. The recent rain washed away many parts of the road which has made it impossible to ply to local van drivers who have locked the both side of road and have not allowed any vehicle to run except school duty van and emergency van. The condition of road in Kalimpong is not good in many places. About 15 vehicle which run daily on turn basis from Fatak to Hawa ghar area has joined the movement . The road is closed due to its bad condition and will be opened only after it is repair read the poster on the gate of fatak where the road has been closed. Yuvraj Biswakarma a local driver today told that the road was regularly maintain by the drivers which used to run daily via this road but the recent rain washed away many parts of the road causing damage. We cant take the risk now to take passenger as any time accident may occur. Again if any part of our vehicle got damage it will cost around 3-5 thousand. Many of has buoyed our vehicle on installment and we cannot afford risk by plying informed Biswakarma. Even some of the local today said that the stretch lacks drainage which make the road like running sea after rainfall. During rain student suffers the most as their socks and shoes get wet every time. Meanwhile the drivers and local have app lead the Municipality to soon repair the road.Ganga Maya Gurung Chairman of Kalimpong Municipality when asked bout the road said that the Municipality will soon verified the road and take out the estimate and send the report to GTA.
