Shah Rukh Khan on his honeymoon: Main Gauri ko Paris bolke Darjeeling le gaya

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan's love story is an inspiration to many. Shah Rukh married Gauri before becoming a superstar. The couple has been married for 27 years.

Recently, at an award show, Shah Rukh revealed details of his honeymoon with Gauri. When Vicky Kaushal, who was hosting the award show, showed a picture from their honeymoon in Darjeeling and asked Shah Rukh the story behind the picture, Khan said, "This is my favourite picture...When I got married, I was very poor while Gauri was middle-class, well-to-do. So like how usually everyone does, I had promised her that after we get married, 'I'll take you to Paris and show you the Eiffel Tower'. But obviously, it was all a lie because neither I had the money nor I had the air tickets but somehow I convinced her."

He added, "Finally, we were heading to Darjeeling to shoot a song for Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. And I felt that considering even Gauri hasn't travelled abroad, she wouldn't know much, so main usko Paris bolke Darjeeling le gaya. Yeh humara honeymoon hai....20-30 days after our wedding."

Shah Rukh was 18 years old when he first met Gauri at a party. She was the first girl he danced with. The rest, as they say, is history. On October 25, 1991, Shah Rukh and Gauri tied the knot.

The two are parents to three children - AbRam, Suhana and Aryan.

Shah Rukh and Gauri opted for different careers. While Shah Rukh become an actor in the Hindi film industry, Gauri opted for a career in interior designing. She is now among the most known celebrity interior designers in the country. Gauri has also ventured into fim production.
