Dimapur, Aug. (EMN): Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK) along with
other Gorkha NGOs and Gorkha defence ex-servicemen observed Balidan
Diwas (Sacrificial Day) on August 25 at GPPK Hall in Chandmari, Kohima.
The Gorkha community led by GB Kamal Bahadur Chetri and GPPK
president Santu Thapa paid rich floral tributes to the Gorkha freedom
fighters particularly to Major Durga Malla and Captain Neikezakuo
Kenguruse.
The Gorkha community led by GPPK vice president Probhu Gurung also
conducted similar programme at Kohima War Cemetery and paid tributes to
those who laid their lives during the World War-II.
An update from GPPK information and publicity committee stated that
its area representative Binod Mothey had highlighted on the significance
of the day. Vivela Club Kohima presented a welcome song, while the
executive member of GPPK, Manish Lama, delivered the vote of thanks.
