Ghisingh’s condition serious, medical board monitoring condition

GNLF supremo, Mr Subash Ghisingh
Siliguri, 25 October: The doctors, attending on the ailing GNLF supremo, Mr Subash Ghisingh, who was admitted to a private facility in Siliguri, have constituted a medical board to monitor his condition. He was admitted yesterday as he was suffering from low blood pressure and attendant giddiness. The condition has become more complicated today, as obstructive jaundice is detected. It is learnt that the medical board comprises four doctors. There is a possibility that he would be shifted to Delhi. The decision may be taken tomorrow.
“The MRCP test that was conducted today has confirmed that Mr Ghisingh is suffering from obstructive jaundice. A four-member medical board, comprising two gastroenterologists, one surgeon and one internal medicine, has been constituted to look into his condition. He is stable now. We may take a decision by tomorrow whether the condition warrants him to be referred to Delhi or other places for further treatment,” said a senior consultant of the nursing home, Dr P D Bhutia.
This is the second time that the 78-year-old Hill patriarch is admitted at the facility in about a fortnight. He had been admitted last on 11 October.
The GNLF leaders from the Hills have, however, remained tight-lipped regarding their leader’s illness. Most of them, contacted, said his condition is nothing to worry about. However, whether Mr Ghisingh would be able to go up the Hills for political programmes aimed at resuscitating the party when a political vacuum is emerging is uncertain.(SNS)
