Darjeeling,(DT) April 25: Working president of ABGL (Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League) has been removed from his post after ten months of his tenure. This was decided in an emergency meeting called by ABGL on Monday, General Secretary Monoj Dewan has also been restricted from his post.
Dawa Sherpa had joined ABGL on June 30, 2010 as a working president. He was also the president of Election Committee of ABGL. It was his responsibility to make the election strategies and support the contending ABGL candidates for Assembly Elections. However, his activities have been disappointing during the elections periods. In an emergency meeting held in Darjeeling headed by party president Bharati Tamang (wife of Late Madan Tamang) and vice- president Laxman Pradhan, the meeting decided the posts of working president and General Secretary have been vacated, after the written complaint against both by Tribuwan Rai and S K Pradhan, ABGL candidates from Kalimpong and Kurseong.
We have issued the show caused notice to both, they have to comply us within seven days otherwise they will be expelled from the party, said Laxman Pradhan, after the meeting.
