CPM to attend all-party:demands inclusion of Darjeeling & Maoist issues

Kolkata, Jul 25: The CPI(M) today said it would attend the August three all-party meeting, but demanded Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to include the Darjeeling and Maoist issues in the agenda.
'' We have received the invitation, and we will attend the all-party meeting. But we have sent a letter to the Chief Minister to include the issues of Darjeeling agreement and Maoist problem in the agenda,'' Leader of the Opposition Surjyakanta Mishra told reporters.
Dr Mishra, a CPI(M) Central Committee leader, had earlier said the party would attend the meeting only if it was inivited 'in a proper way'.
The demand he made today followed the sharp reaction the Opposition Left Front gave to Ms Banerjee's claim that the long-drawn Darjeeling problem had been 'solved' with the creation of 'Gorkhaland Territorial Authority' and that a 'positive' move had been initiated to restore peace in the Maoist-hit Jangalmahal, comprising parts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia districts.
The proposed meeting on August three is expected to take up for discussion the state Government's proposal for renaming West Bengal and bifurcating five districts for administrative convenience.
