All India Forward Bloc(AIFB) Demanded all-party meeting on the Gorkhaland issue

Kolkata, Sep 26 : All India Forward Bloc General Secretary Debabrata Biswas today asked the Trinamool Congress government for calling an all-party meeting on the Gorkhaland and Junglemahal issues immediately.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Biswas said, ''In name of clean city, the state government was trying to ban or restrict political meetings and processions and pulling down hoardings for the interest of commerce and industry lobby, while it was not interested in calling an all-party meeting on Gorkhaland or Junglemahal issues.'' He said, the ruling party said before the election that they want 'change' not 'revenge', but after coming to the power in the state, were engaged in continuing revengeful actions against the Left party workers and leaders in which several Left and innocent people have lost their lives.

Mr Biswas allleged that the state government was seizing the patta-land from the poor peasants and evicting tillers from their land and forcing resignations of current elected office-bearers of Panchayat bodies, municipal boards, students' unions of different colleges and universities.

''We are urging the people of the state to raise their united voices of protest against these anti-democratic actions of Trinamool Congress-Congress led government and save the democracy,'' Mr Biswas added.
