Kiran Thapa resident of Teesta Valley, Darjeeling,Drug Peddlers arrested in Sikkim

Sikkim/Gangtok: Sadar Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered a good amount of illegal drugs on Wednesday. The first arrest was of Kiran Thapa, 28 years, resident of Bojoghari in connection to drug peddling. Addressing the media Sadar Tshering Sherpa informed that reliable sources had informed Sadar Police that the accused had been selling drugs in said areas since few years back and reacting upon the information received, the police reached the spot and arrested accused Thapa on 13th September from his residence located at Bojoghari. Thapa is a permanent resident of Teesta Valley, Darjeeling but has been living at Bojoghari since few years back and professionally the accused is a taxi driver. Sadar Police raided his house and during the search operation police did not find any drugs but during the investigation the accused informed police that he had hidden all drugs inside of a toy (doll) in the house. Police recovered 601 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, 14 tablets of Nitorsun10, 1 Mobile and cash amounting to Rs.1280/- from the accused.
PI Mr. Sherpa informed that during the investigation accused Mr. Thapa informed about another driver who is also fully involved in peddling case since last few years. Based on this  information police arrested 28 years old Chandra Pradhan alias Mama, resident of Panitanki, Darjeeling West Bengal. PI Sherpa said that reacting on the information of the accused Thapa, Police tried to trace the vehicle of another accused Pradhan. But he was in Siliguri so Tadong police started waiting at the outpost. Finally the accused Pradhan while returning from Siliguri was nabbed at Tadong at about 12:20 pm (Mid night) . During investigation Pradhan told police that he has hidden all drugs in his spare tire which was on the hood of the vehicle. Police recovered 1440 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, 19 Bottle of Recodex, 200 tablets of Nitrosun10, 1 number of dendrite and 5 pouches of Gaaja from inside the spare tire. Police have also seized the vehicle bearing No. SK 04-3195 (Tata Sumo).
A case have been filed under ‘Sikkim Anti Drugs Act 2006(09)’ at Sadar Police Station against both the accused.
