A handloom and handicraft training centre has been established in Silgleyboong region of West Pendam district in the Indian State of Sikkim.
The setting up of the training centre is a part of the State government’s policy of launching several measures for the benefit of the people.
The training programme is sponsored by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
During the two-month training programme, each participant would be given a daily stipend of Rs. 75.
The participants in the training programme have been urged to form self help groups to take advantage of the benefits provided by the Ministry of Textiles.
