Kalimpong. 23 rd jan.mukesh sharma: An initiative of the newly formed kalimpong municipality to clean the town and ward was undertaken today as a rally was organised by the kalimpong municipality to arouse consciousness among the general public to keep the town clean. ‘Green kalimpong Clean Kalimpong’ was the motto of the rally. All the municipality workers along with all the ward councillors the police administration and above all the sub divisional officer Mr. L.N Sherpa were present during the rally which started from the municipality premises. The councillors along with the workers cleaned the roads as they appealed to the public not to throw waste on the roads but to accumulate and disposed in a proper manner. Meanwhile from today itself the kalimpong municipality has made a rule to fine RS.500 to the ones who carries plastic carry bag and RS.1000 to the shops using plastics. The Janmukti Park has also been made a no smoking zone and if anyone found doing so a fine of RS.200 is waiting.
