Kolkata, Feb 1 : The first phase of 2nd division's 23-team I-League begins at Silchar (Assam), Cuttack (Orissa) and New Delhi simultaneously today.While Arhima FC take on Aizwal FC and Southern Samity play against Eagles FC in Silchar, Cuttack is venue for Royal Wahingdoh FC versus Samaleshwari SC, and SESA FC vie against Kenkre FC.
Mohammedan SC lock horns against KGF Academy and Vasco SC to play agaisnt PIFA Colaba FC.
The teams are divided into three groups: Group A: Green Valley, Eagles FC, Southern Samity, Bhawanipore FC, United Sikkim FC, Arhima FC and Aizwal FC, will play in Silchar.
Group B: Royal Wahingdoh FC, SESA FC, Quartz FC, Kalighat MS, Techno Aryan FC, Gauhati Town Club, Kenkre FC and Samaleshwari SC, will play in Cuttack.
Group C: Mohammedan SC, Vasco SC, Golden Threads FC, Luangmual FC, Simla Youngs FC, Langsing FC, PIFA Colaba FC and KGF Academy, Will play in Delhi.
The tournament will be played till February 21.
Top two teams from each group will qualify for the final phase, which will be played in Siliguri and Gangtok. (UNI)
