Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: The Pudung Junior Basic School today observed its 125th foundation day with much hue and enthusiasm at the school premises. The day had the GJM central committee secretary Bijay Sundas as the chief guest. The day also had the presence of former student, and a Nepali litteratteur Dr Paras Mani Pradhan’s family, the family members of the land donor, the headmaster, teachers and the students. After the welcome note by the principal Manorma Subba, the students presented the school welcome song. The Parasmani Memorial Trust also donated check to the school which was damaged by the September earthquake. Bharat Mani Pradhan, son of Paras Mani Pradhan today handed the helping hand to the principal and also the SUMI former student union donated the school. The students of the Chandra Maya high school, Chandra Maya primary school, Pashupati Primary school, Nirmaya primary school and the Dibya Gyan Kunj school’s presented beautiful dance numbers.
The school also presented mementos to the former students of the school. The school was built by Rev. Michael MacFarlane in the year 1887.
