Kolkota|PTI: Russia today evinced keen interest in jointly working in West Bengal, particularly in IT, healthcare, steel, education and tourism sectors.
Russian consul-general in Kolkata Irina K Bashkirova told reporters after meeting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at that her country was also interested in working together in tea sector in this state.
She said that Russia was specially interested in exploring further prospects of tourism in the Sunderbans and the Darjeeling hills.
The chief minister later said she was happy at the Russian interest in working jointly in West Bengal.
"It is a good discussion. Russia wants to work on the basis of mutual cooperation. They have shown interest in exploring further tourism prospects in the Sunderbans and in Darjeeling as well as in boosting the state's tea sector," she said.
