Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: The final match of the inter house football tournament of the SUMI was today held at Mela ground in Kalimpong.
In the sub-junior division Macfarlane house defeated the Sadarland house by 3-0. In the junior division the Aag house defeated the Sadarland house in the tie-breaker. Likewise in the senior division the Mil house defeated the Sadarland house by 4-1.
The winners and the runners were provided with the trophies and the certificates. The former teacher cum football player Sonam Bhutia was present as the chief guest of the occasion. The chief guest addressing on the occasion said that the SUMI had its characteristics not only in the hills but in the whole Bengal, when football comes into question. The responsibility has now been rested on the youths he added. Whatever we can do in our times we did said Bhutia added that he will be supporting the institution in the future endeavors.
The day also marked the presence of the headmaster NR Pradhan, vice headmaster Gyan Lepcha, ex teachers, students and the local people.
