Bangladesh Veterans Club today defeated Kolkata by a lone goal in the finals of the International Veteran Football Tournament which was played here at the Mela Ground, in Kalimpong today. With this win, Bangladesh registered second consecutive win over Lt Pem Dorjee Memorial Cup. Bangladesh goalkeeper was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the tournament and Bijay Pal as the best player in the tournament.The former footballers Sonam Wnagdi Bhutia, Urgen Lama (Mini), Tshering P Bhutia, Nim Tshering Lepcha, Pratik Rai, Subh Pradhan, Tshering Dorjee Bhutia, Dinesh Thapa and Tarun Mukhia were honored by the organizing committee. The day had GTA sabhasad Lobsang Lama as the chief guest accompanied by Cap PM Pradhan, Surendra Parekh and other GTA sabhasads as the special guests. The Sukbir Rai Memorial tournament has also kick started which will be inter-taxi driver association organized by the Kalimpong Veterans Associations. In the inaugural match today Pudung Driver Welfare Association and Homes Line Driver Association ended draw 2-2.
