GTA Chief urges Morcha workers to work dedicatedly

“After the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), we now need to attain something else”, said the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) president, Bimal Gurung.Addressing a gathering during a function at the Ram Krishna Rang Manch, Gurung urged the GJM constituency level committee members to work selflessly.

“The selected members should work towards improvement and work thoughtfully. You should realize their responsibilities. You have not been selected to commit corruption instead to develop the society and the area as a whole”, underlined the Morcha chief and added that if the members work properly no issues will occur.Speaking about how politics should be done Gurung exampled Rahul Gandhi and said that the youth leader has been tirelessly striving in politics since long. In this context his said that even the GJM has been striving hard. The Morcha has been expanding itself because the Centre never worked as per the rules, he complained. Likewise, he urged the gathering to be aware of the opportunists. Commenting over the state government Gurung said that the West Bengal government is tensed after the departments were transferred under the GTA. He alleged the government of going against the GTA agreement.“The North Bengal Development Minister Gautam Deb claims that the Rohini Road was constructed from the North Bengal Development fund. But he should realize that it has been constructed through the GTA fund”, said Gurung.Lastly, he highlighted the developmental works happening in and around Kalimpong. A lake and a view point will be made at Nok Dara for which 3 acres of land have been donated by the locals there and 26 crores of fund have already been sanctioned for the construction of the parking plaza at Novelty, he informed.
