Sexual assault to a Nepali girl in Delhi, GJMM visits victim,keeping close track of the case

On receiving information that  the sexually assaulted girl is admitted at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi the GJMM team of Delhi & NCR  including Naari Morcha and Vasant Vihar unit reached Safdarjung Hospital.  Ranjan Sharma, General Secretary of Delhi GJMM ,said that an 18year old girl, inhabitant of Sindhupal Chowk , Nepal who was living in Delhi since the last few years, working as a housemaid in Greater Kailash , New Delhi was found to have been admitted. Her husband aged around 22 years who also hails from Nepal stated that they were married last year and  the girl had been to her friends place at Kotla Mubarakpur yesterday evening  and was returning to her room in Chirag Dilli. She was offered lift by 3 men in a car and sedated heavily by the culprits. The girl was forcibly intoxicated and she regained her consciousness today morning. She was reported to have been found lying in Safdarjung area by the police and immediately taken to Safdarjung Hospital. However her clothes were torn and still in an intoxicated state. On speaking to the police it was learnt that a case for outraging the modesty of women, criminal conspiracy and wrongful confinement has been registered and investigation to nab the culprits is on. The police  reported to the press that there are no physical marks on the body indicating assault and  her condition is getting stable . Police further said that there are no possible indications of any sexual assault. However, medical report of the victim and final confirmation of any foul play in the matter is awaited. The police have recorded the statement of the girl and her husband. Ranjan Sharma says that Delhi GJMM are keeping a close track of the case and in touch with the victim, her husband, police officials and if need arises we shall render all possible help to assist the victim  and bring the matter to  a logical conclusion. The matter has also been reported in the local as well as national media  and several  NGO’s  are also trying to get involved and assist the victim.
