Darjeeling DM office gets ISO certification
Darjeeling, 7 July : Darjeeling is now the 12th district in the country to have its District Magistrate office certified with the  International Standard Organisation (ISO), to improve the management system to deliver its service of international quality. The official announcement will be made by the North Bengal Development Minister Mr Gautam Deb, from Darjeeling on 10 July, said the Darjeeling DM, Mr Saumitra Mohan.
“Of the 650 districts in the country, the DM offices of 11 districts have been certified with ISO and Darjeeling will be the 12th,” said Mr Mohan, adding, “Seven collectorate sections of the DM office here has already been certified with ISO and the processes are on to certify other sections too.”
It can be mentioned here that the headquarters of the ISO is based in Geneva, Switzerland and in India the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) is the arm of ISO. “The guidelines of the ISO is to deliver the services of international level,” said Mr Mohan.
