Darjeeling, 17 July: One Natasha Singh (40), a resident of Oakland, California, had to leave
Darjeeling as ordered by the Foreigner’s Registration Office here.
Police said, she, associated with an NGO based in Darjeeling, had met a suspected ISI operative, Misa Sawria at the district correctional home.
The SP, Darjeeling, Mr Kunal Agarwal said that Natasha had visited India on a tourist visa.
“She stayed at Panighatta for a month. She was close to one of the NGOs based in Darjeeling. She had even gone to visit Misa Sawria, ISI’s suspected operative who had been arrested recently from Kurseong.”
He, however, refused to elaborate.
“When the FRO of Darjeeling found out about her, he asked her to leave Darjeeling. She left for Delhi and will be sent back to Oakland from there,” he said.
