GJM-JMM to hold public meeting on July 18 at Sunkosh tea garden

KALCHINI: GJM central committee member Suraj Biswakarma today announced a joint meeting would be held by the GJM-JMM alliance on July 18 at Sunkosh tea garden under Kumargram block. 
The alliance had organised a similar meeting at Turturi tea garden on July 13 and it was attended by nearly 4,000 supporters of both sides. Biswakarma hinted GJM general secretary Roshan Giri’s could be present at the meeting.
According to him, the GJM-JMM alliance would form committees at Newlands, Kumargram, Sunjkosh and Raidak gram Panchayat areas for the upcoming polls. He said the alliance has good hold in the Kumargram area.
The GJM-JMM alliance has fielded 37 candidates in Kumargram for gram Panchayats, nine for the Panchayat samiti and two candidates for the Zilla Parishad and claims victory is assured from the area.
Meanwhile, JMM leader Kedar Newar of Alipurduar No. 2 block, said his party has fielded 32 candidates for the gram Panchayat, seven for the Panchayat samiti and one candidate for the Zilla Parishad. He too claimed a sure win in the polls from the Kohinoor and the Samuktala areas.
