Amra Bangali not to support Monday’s strike

Local outfit Amra Bangali has decided not to support the 24-hour strike called on August 19 by the Bangla O Bangla Bhasa Bachao Committee. This was announced today by Bikas Biswas, a central committee member of the BOBBBC, in a press meet at the Siliguri Journalists’ Club.
Meanwhile, he condemned Gorkha Janmukti Morcha leaders for demanding a Gorkhaland state and the various means they are adopting to get their demand fulfilled.
Biswas alleged the Morcha is receiving financial support from foreign sources and using the funds for conducting illegitimate weapons’ training programmes. Calling this an act of sedition, he demanded the arrest of GJM chief Bimal Gurung and general secretary Roshan Giri, particularly for scrapping the GTA.(EOIC)
