Janmukti Morcha general secretary Roshan Giri said a step forward has
been taken by the Gorkhaland issue in the centre following Darjeeling MP
Jaswant Singh raising the issue in Parliament.
“How long can the state government try to suppress the Gorkhaland movement?” he asked.
It is learnt the Darjeeling MP and
veteran BJP leader today raised the Gorkhaland issue in Parliament even
as Trinamool Congress MPs resisted in unison.
Notably, this is the second time that
Singh has raised the demand of separate statehood after the approval of
Telengana and the “missing” diary filed in his name.(EOI)
