Chief
Minister Mamata Bannerjee is scheduled to visit Mirik during the first
week of January to address a meeting. She is expected to announce the
formation of a Tamang Development Council at the function. As her visit
is more or less finalised, the hill unit of the TMC is making
preparations to welcome their leader to the hills again.
The Mirik block unit of the AITMC is all
set to give the CM a grand welcome. Block president Rupesh Chettri and
secretary Anil Chettri briefed media personnel about the preparations
being made. They added the committee has already discussed development
and tourism issues with North Bengal Development minister Gautam Deb and
AITMC general secretary Mukul Roy. (EOIC)
