With things starting to fall back to normalcy after a brief lull, interest towards the Hills has started gaining. The United Sikkim Football Club (USFC), the flagship enterprise of Bhaichung Bhutia, the super star of Indian football will be scouting for local talents to represent the country in the 2017 Under-17 World Cup. For starters the USFC will select thirty probable talents from the Under-14 Snow Lion Cup football tournament that will kick-off in Darjeeling from December 19. The club will further scrutinize and shortlist twenty youths and groom them while giving them national exposure under the club’s banner.
Addressing a press conference today, Arjun Rai, senior manager of the USFC said, “The whole idea is to try and scout for talents that are in abundance in the Hilly regions. Good and promising players will be selected and groomed for higher levels.
