Gangtok : 26 Feb: In the historic move of State Government, the tiny himalayan state Sikkim today witnessed the most awaited ‘Lokayukta Bill’ which was placed in the Sikkim Assembly by the Chief Minister Shri pawan Chamling who is also the Law Minister of the state.
The triumph of the bill as told by CM day before to media at one of the event in Namchi that said bill after assent of Honorable Governor Shri Sriniwas Patel will be a law, the said law will curb corruption and irregularities in governance.
He also said that the law will be applicable right from CM to Panchayat and from Chief Secretary to Peon.
Sikkim Lokayukta Bill, Bill No.6 of 2014 passed unanimously during the Eighth Assembly, Ninth Session of Part-III of Sikkim Legislative Assembly today; February 26, 2014.
