Siliguri-based Surendra Institute of
Engineering and Management today hosted ‘Technothon III’, a national
level human resource confluence under the theme ‘National employability
conclave 2014’.
An SIEM statement informed the function
was formally inaugurated by Bidya Bharati Foundation president Ram
Bilash Agarwal in the presence of SIEM chairman Sharad Agarwal, director
Snigdha Agarwal and institute dean Dr. A Ramesh Kumar.
Resource persons including Amit
Bhandari, Soumik Roy, Debasish Chakrabarty, Megha Kapil, Aloke Tagore,
Ashish Mendiratta and Prashant Kumar Sharma, among others representing
national and global organisations such as ALSTOM, Wipro, Oracle, IBM,
Honda Motors, Escort Ltd and Ericsson addressed the conclave. They
dwelled on the latest trends in hiring, recruitment and selection in the
country while focusing on the necessity of talent among students.
Prashant Kumar Sharma, Advisor for India
Affairs, Tallin University of Technology, Estonia noted scholarship
opportunities for higher studies are being provided by Tallin University
to aspiring students of SIEM.
A number of local business and
management heads including Varni Builders MD RK Jain, Trescon GM Rishi
Kapoor, CII North Bengal Chapter head PK Saha and Wipro recruitment head
(Northeastern region) Eugene Gurung were among the special guests at
