Kalimpong,Mukesh Sharma: Bhartiya Gorkha Parisangh has today alleged that Darjeeling MP Jaswant Singh diverted fund worth Rs 10 lakh from the MP LAD fund to his native area Barmer in Rajasthan in the 2011-2012 .
Enos Das Pradhan, the National president of the Parisangh in a press conference revealed that The fact was found out by RTI cell where Rs 4 lakh was used in constructing the community hall at Chochra gram panchayat in Barmer and Rs 5,92,405 was spent in constructing a basketball ground of Shree Mallinath Education Society in Barmer
This is the first installments of Exposure as how borrowed MP Jaswant Singh misused MPLADS Fund by transferring some fund to his home town Barmer in Rajasthan. This is not permissible as MPLADS funds by the Lok Sabha MP must be utilized in his constituency and not elsewhere. Immediate steps should be taken to get the amount refunded, failing which legal action will be initiated he said
We will soon release second installment of such exposure. S SAlluwalia and Bhaichung (all borrowed candidates) if elected are likely to transfer the funds to their respective home towns Patna and Gangtok. So, he appealed to vote for Darjeeling own candidate Dr. M. P. Lama and benefit from the utilization of the MPLADS funds in our own constituency.
Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh, an apolitical organisation which is supporting Independent candidate Mahendra P Lama in the Darjeeling parliamentary seat.
But denying his fact the para 2.9 of the MPLAD guidelines, reads “if an elected Member of Parliament, finds the need, to contribute MPLADS funds, to a place outside that State/UT, or outside the constituency within the states or both, the MP can recommend eligible works, under these guidelines up to a maximum of Rs.10 lakh in a financial year. Such a gesture on the part of an MP will promote national unity, harmony, and fraternity among the people, at the grass roots level.”
He said there is no such relation between Darjeeling and Barmer where national unity or harmony exist
He added that GJM top leadership too has been involved in the MPLAD fund . Very soon we will be releasing the second list of the Series added Pradhan.
