Kalimpong GJM women’s wing demand arrest of mastermind behind Gurung attack

A day after GJM supremo Bimal Gurung was intimidated at gunpoint, the Kalimpong women’s branch of the party today demanded immediate arrest of the mastermind of the attack. A representative team of the wing today met SDO Radhika Ayer and submitted a deputation demanding immediate investigation into the matter and the plotter’s arrest. Leaders such as Tara Lohar, Bandana Yonjan, Lamu Bhutia and others urged the administration to act stringently to deal with the incident.
GJM women’s wing secretary Bandana Yonjon condemned the incident saying the attack on Bimal Gurung has amply shown security of general people is not even a matter of any concern to the administration.
“If such a dreadful attack can befall on a top leader, we can simply gauge the degree of security the common people has,” she feared. Yonjon asserted the attacker was emboldened because Gurung has been stripped of his security. She claimed if Gurung comes to any harm, the state government will be responsible for it.(EOIC)
