of hills and appealed to vote for him. Some of the speakers said the
issues being faced by tea garden workers will be resolved if Bhutia is

TMC alleges Mirik Municipality of being corrupt
The TMC has alleged the Mirik
Municipality of being corrupt. Accusing the municipal administration of
siphoning away funds meant for public development, the TMC Mirik block
committee has demanded an audit once the elections are over. Speaking to
media persons, block committee secretary Anil Chettri and INTTUC leader
Brihaspati Subba said along with the audit, they will also seek a
physical inspection.
The duo alleged the GJM-ruled municipal
administration is also monopolising the management of dumping grounds,
construction of small houses, drinking water project and other basic
infrastructural development works. They also wondered how public work is
being managed in ward 2 of the municipal area in the absence of a ward
representative. (EOIC)
