Members of the National Service Scheme
(NSS) today observed ‘Van Mahatsav’ in Kurseong College under the
leadership of the NSS programme officer and professors Srijana Rai and
Yogesh Khati. During the event, a total of 105 saplings of various
plants were planted within the premises of the college by the students
and the teachers.
Forest range officer Lakpa Lama of upper
Mahanadi area and ADFO G Yolmo played an important role in the Van
Mahatsav by providing the saplings to the students.
Srijana Rai made the students aware
about the various aspects of the environment in detail, focusing mainly
on the conservation and protection of trees.(EOIC)
