Talking to the reporters, the producer of the music album Bushan Chettri, who is also a member of the band, said, “We were able to distribute ration commodities to a small section of poor people here in the Red Bank Tea Estate.” The band distributed 700kg Basmati rice, 150kg Chana dal, 150 packets of salt, 80 kg soya chunks to almost 200 families at the tea garden.
Notably, on June 22 the music album, ‘Banjara’, was released by the band in Kurseong with the aim to collect fund for providing aid to the impoverished, starving tea workers of the Red Bank Tea Estate area in Dooars. The music album consists of eight songs and six of them are sung in Hindi while the rest are in Nepali. (EOIC)
