NHPC warns people not to go to Teesta river during Monsoon season

NHPC who distributed the notice yesterday at Teesta along NH 10 have given a chance to TMC to attack the NHPC once again . TMC Teesta branch which in last two to three months regarding the problem of labor of query closed after construction of NHPC stage 3 at 27th Mile has raised question on the notice. TMC teesta wing leader along with other leaders today submitted a memorandum to BDO Kalimpong I Bimalendu Das.

The Miking was done by NHPC according to Gupta which warned the locals not to go to river side during Monsoon season( May to October) as the water level can rise at any time . NHPC can release water in any time of the year read notice which has clarified that NHPC will not be responsible if any on towards incident occur after the warning.Gupta raising a question said that not a single work has been done by NHPC which can prevent people not to go to river. He said River lack fencing and The already constructed Protection wall is in dire need of its own protection. Gupta said how can NHPC be so irresponsible saying that they will not be responsible. He added we can stop our children not to go to river but what about the tourist which are enjoying in white river rafting . what if they die ? He demanded BDO to call a immediate meeting with NHPC officials and Teesta mass to discuss the situation.
