West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said some 50,000 households will have toilets under clean and green programme in Darjeeling hills.
Talking to reporters at Bagdogra airport before leaving for uphill driveon way to Darjeeling, Ms Banerjee said her visit to the hills was to start a clean and green Darjeeling from tomorrow.
“We will build some 50,000 toilets in the hills under the clean and green project,” she added. The project is a joint initiative between the district administration and GTA, run by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM).
Ms Banerjee will also attend a meeting of the Tribal Advisory Council on August 26 before leaving here on August 27. (UNI)
