Dr. Kumar Pradhan second death anniversary observed

The second death anniversary of Dr. Kumar Pradhan, historian, journalist, columnist and critics was observed on Sunday at Club Montana Vista, City Centre, Siliguri by Dr Kumar Pradhan memorial Trust.
Bairagi Kaila most revered litterateur from Kathmandu was the chief guest on the occasion. Bairagi Kaila during his speech said that he always saw DrPradhan as his headmaster because he was multitalented, historian, learner and an eminent journalist who dedicated his most valuable writings for the society.
He said, "DrPradhan's death has come as a big loss for the Nepali society who created a milestone in Nepali literature who also translated various books in different languages."
On the occasion books of collections of poems written by DrPradhan "Asthatit" was also released by Bairagi Kaila.
During a daylong function well known poets from North Bengal and Sikkim recited noted poems written by DrPradhan in presence of hundreds of guests from Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Mirik, Kurseong, Gangtok, Dooars and Nepal.
Mohan Thakuri, BhupendraSubba, SudhirChhetri, AbirKhaling, Raja Puniyani and many others also recited poems to pay homage to Dr Kumar Pradhan.
PempaTamang including ManprasadSubba, UdayThulung, NorjangSyengden, BimalRai, Laxman Dahl, BasudevPulami, UrmilaGhishing, Amar Lama, SushmaMoktan, Surendra Thing, and many others were among the guests.
The Trust is headed by PurnimaPradhan, the wife of Dr. Pradhan, assisted by Bhaskar Raj Pradhan, a lawyer at Sikkim High Court. (EOI)
