RKSP Students Win World Biodiversity Day Extempore
Competition, Sardeshwari Girls and Bloomfield HS Student Adjudged Best

Twelve students from six different schools of Darjeeling
participated in the extempore speech competition held to celebrate
World Biodiversity Day event, held at Darjeeling Zoo. The chief guest of
the event was Pradip Vyaas, IFS, PCCF/CWLW, Govt. Of West Bengal.
Ram Krishna Siksha Parishad Higher Secondary School (RKSP) was declared the best school, while Miss Nikita Rai of Bloomfield High School and Miss Chandani Limbu of Sardeshwari Government High School were adjuged best speakers.
The event was chaired by Mr Deependra Sunar, Project Head, World Wide Fund, Darjeeling, and Mr. Sapan Pradhan, Asst.Professor, St.Joshep's College, Darjeeling.
The programme was organised by the Research and Education Section, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park (PNHZP) and hosted by Mr. Bhupen Roka, Education Officer, PNHZP.
Mr. Palden Tamang a first year student of the Department of Botany, St.Joseph's College and Mr Kapil Chhetri, a zoology student of Asutosh College also participated and presented their views on biodiversity issues.(TDC)
