 England enters World Cup knockout stage as Kane hat-trick leads 6-1 against Panama
England have smashed their record for the biggest World Cup win. It was 3-0; it’s now 6-1 against Panama. It could have been more, but they eased up in the second half after leading 5-0 at the break. Harry Kane scored England’s first World Cup hat-trick since 1986. 

  • 86': Well, this is ending on a rather boring note it seems. England are now seem content with the scoreline. Though, Panama are trying hard to reduce the defeat-margin

  • 82': Sterling with a curler from the edge of the box. It's wide

  • 80': Panama fans in the stadium are celebrating as if they have won the World Cup. They should. They are all witness to history.

  • 78': GOAL! History made - Felipe Baloy becomes the first ever goal-scorer for Panama in World Cup finals! A brilliant cross from Avila - well outside the box - and Baloy latches onto it to push it past Pickford. Panama fans are delighted. Baloy sheds a tear or two.

  • 76': Corner for Panama. Brilliantly taken and Torres misses out a golden chance to score after sending his attempt wide.

  • 75': What is Pickford doing? He charges forward and inside the circle nearly commits a howler before cutting the ball loose for a teamate

  • 73': CHANCE! Young plays it on to an Maguire on the right who heads it for Henderson in the middle but his volley is just wide of the net.

45': YELLOW CARD TO Escobar for showing dissent

43': PENALTY no. 2 for ENGLAND! Panama players have been quite physical in this half. Some wrestling bout going on as John Stones is fouled inside the penalty box. Harry Kane will take it.

40': GOAL! John Stones scores for the second time! England are in cruise control! 4-0 to them now. Lovely execution from England. Trippier takes the free kick short to Henderson who guides it to Kane who in turn sets up Sterling for a header. The header is blocked but the rebound falls to Stones who heads that home!


38': Free kick for England. Delay in the set-piece due to some scuffling between the red and white shirts

36': GOAL! Lingard scores to make it 3-0. This is so good from England. A period of possession from England and Raheem Sterling frees up Lingard with a gorgeous pass. Lingard responds with a 30-yard screamer to the top right corner. England 3-0 Panama

34': Henderson frees up Younng on the left with a long ball and the offside flag stays down. He runs and manages to keep the ball in play but not for too long.


32': Maguire receives the cross from Trippier near the goal but his header is over the cross bar.


31': Sterling receives the ball near the midfield but his fouled by Gomez. Trippier will take the free kick.


29': Another good play from Panama as Rodriguez receives a pass from the left but makes a mess of the chance by sending his cross over the cross bar.


28': Perez cuts back from left but a white shirt is there to head the ball clear


26': Raheem Sterling receives a ball near the danger zone but is caught offside


23': YELLOW CARD to Loftus-Cheek after he trips Rodriguez


22': GOAL! Harry Kane with a thunderous strike to the top left corner. A brilliant penalty from the England captain. England 2-0 Panama


20': PENALTY FOR ENGLAND! Loftus-Cheek lobs a ball inside the box and Lingard chests and is reaching out for it but he has been fouled by Escobar. Referee has made the decision. Panama are protesting. But the penalty stays.
17': Even though England have the lead, Panama have looked equally threatening. Or Even more. Barcenas is asking some tough questions of them. Won't be a shock if Panama soon equalise.


16': CHANCE! Barcenas finds some space in the middle and with his left foot, fires a curler. England goalkeeper dives but the ball is wide. CLOSE


14': Kane wins the ball near the edge but the red shirts crowd him out. No chance for the England captain. Now he Kane goes down. No free kick given. Now a free kick to Panama. Their goalie Penedo will take it.


11': Barcenas with a brilliant cross from the right but Kyle Walker intercepts it to clear that right in front of the goalmouth.


10': Another heavy challenge of Jesse Lingard as he goes down. Cooper gets the YELLOW CARD. He'll miss Panama's final game


8': A delay in the set piece due to pushing and shoving going about near the Panama goalpost. GOAL. The delivery is decent and John Stones gets hold of it and heads it inside the net! England 1-0 Panama. This is Stones first ever goal for England!


7': Trippier puts the pressure and wins a corner for England on the right. Trippier to take the corner.


5': HORRIBLE! Godoy with a chance as he receives a pass in middle but his shot is wayward - sends the ball into the orbit miles over the cross bar.


4': A free kick to Panma from the left. Can they make something out of the set piece? Out comes the header from an Englishman. And it's a goal kick for England.

2': England with an early opportunity. Four white shirts inside the Panama box. Lingard has hurt himself while trying to win a header. Hurt his head in a collision with a Panama's Gomez. Medical staff has been pressed into action early on.
