Siliguri, Oct 25 (IANS) President Pranab Mukherjee will be on a day's trip to Darjeeling Nov 10 to inaugurate the 125th anniversary celebrations of North Point School, official sources said.
The president would return to New Delhi on the same day.
Arrangements have already started for the president's tour with district police and administration authorities holding the preliminary meetings on security and other logistical issues.
West Bengal Governor M.K. Narayanan will be on a 19-day visit to Darjeeling district from Oct 27, for which security is being beefed up.
Several political parties have decided to call on Narayanan as a matter of courtesy during his visit.
A GJM delegation led by its supremo Bimal Gurung is also likely to meet Narayanan. The governor would tour Kalimpong, Mirik and Kurseong in the district.
Meanwhile, the state government has announced that the chief minister's secretariat set up at Fulbari near Siliguri of Darjeeling district.
