Kolkata, Mar 16 : Left Front chairman Biman Basu announced the names of cancdidates for remaining two seats of Sreerampore and Kalimpong for the coming assembly elections commencing from April 18.
Talking to newspersons after releasing the LF's election manifesto, Mr Basu said,''We have announced the names of 292 candidates, out of 294 seats, on March 13 and the remaining two seats will be contested by the Left Front's partner CPI.'' Mr Partha Sarathi Rez would fight from Sreerampore, while Mr Bikram Chetri from Kalimpong constituency.
He said, ''The central slogan for the elections would be the agriculture, industry, peace, democracy and progress in the interest of forming the eighth Left Front government in the state.'' ''We are appealing to people to vote the LF candidates of all the 294 constituencies,'' Mr Basu said.
