Darjeeling, : The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) announced its support to the Trinamool Congress-Congress combine in some of the Assembly seats.
GJM assistant secretary Binoy Tamang said the party took the decision to support the AITC and Congress candidates to ensure defeat of the ruling Left Front candidates.
The GJM is contesting Darjeeling, Kurseong and Kalimpong Assembly seats in the hills but will support the AITC and Congress candidates in three other seats of Darjeeling segments - Phansidewa, Matighara and Siliguri.
The first two are for the Congress and the last is for the AITC.
The GJM would also support the Opposition allies in Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar districts, where the party enjoys a support base, added Mr Tamang.
The GJM, however, extended its support to the Progressive People's Party for Nagrakatta seat and the BJP for Madarihat Assembly constituency.
